General Motors Company to Open Trading

TORONTO, Nov. 18, 2010 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) -- Kevin Williams, President and Managing Director, General Motors of Canada Ltd., Carol Stephenson, Dean, Ivey School of Business and Member of the General Motors Company Board of Directors, and Ken Lewenza, President of the Canadian Auto Workers, will join Tom Kloet, CEO, TMX Group to open trading on Toronto Stock Exchange this morning. 
The market opening ceremony is in celebration of General Motors' planned initial public offering on Toronto Stock Exchange. General Motors is expected to begin trading today under the symbol TSX:GMM.U.

Toronto Stock Exchange has welcomed 137 new companies during the first ten months of 2010, representing a 96% increase over the same period in 2009.
