GMV Minerals Inc. Adds Exploration Focus to Claims Adjacent to Guyana Goldfields Aurora Resource in Guyana
ARE PENDING DRILL RESULTS DRIVING THE STOCK HIGHER TODAY?
VANCOUVER, May 3, 2012 /CNW/ - GMV Minerals Inc. (the "Company" or "GMV") (TSX-V: GMV) today announces that it has
mobilized working crews onto its large prospecting license titled A-16
which is directly adjacent to Guyana Goldfields Inc.'s (TSX: GUY)
Aurora resource claims in Guyana and is locally referred to as "Aurora
Back".
Access is provided through a number of old mining roads leading back
into this area. In addition, GMV has numerous medium scale properties
which provide access through the block continuing south, east and west
towards Sandspring Resources Ltd.'s (TSXv: SSP) deposit. The A-16
block has been well defined by GMV's airborne and follow up geophysics
survey [see Press Release dated March 1, 2012] as having excellent
potential for mineralization. Historically there have been numerous
alluvial operations on A-16. The GGMC (Guyana Geology & Mines
Commission) database establishes anomalous gold samples reported as far
back as 1961. Currently the area claims have active alluvial mining
with many land dredges operating nearby.
The Company has recently engaged two additional seasoned geologists to
conduct exploration activities which include mapping, sampling,
trenching and, if deemed appropriate, a drill program will follow. The
block is currently being geochemically sampled at 50-meter intervals on
lines spaced 100 meters apart N-S. The tightly spaced geochemical
grid is due to the high gold potential of the area. The high gold
potential is not only due to the proximity to the Aurora resources but
the north-west and north-east trending geophysical anomalies that
extend from the mineralized Aurora system onto the claims as defined by
the airborne geophysics.
Assay data from three drill holes is pending as well as data from
several geochemical grids on properties in the Puruni area. Once
received the Company will issue the results in due course.
This news release has been prepared and approved by Robert (Bob)
Lunceford, a geologist with more than 25 years of experience and a
Qualified Person as defined under NI #43-101.
