Mark Relph Joins the LX Ventures Advisory Board
VANCOUVER, BRITISH
COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - March 14, 2014) - LX Ventures Inc. (TSX
VENTURE:LXV) ("LXV" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the addition of
Mark Relph to its Board of Advisors, where he will work closely
with LXV portfolio company, Copper.io.
A 15 year veteran of Microsoft, Mark was Vice-President of Developer Evangelism for Microsoft Canada where he led all developer outreach and owned the developer tools business for Microsoft Canada. He focused on the early adoption of the Microsoft platform with developers and drove business development for high profile projects such as the Vancouver Winter Olympics. "We are delighted that Mark is joining the LX Advisory Board," said Ed Byrne, CEO of Copper.io. "His background in the developer tools space will be a high value-add for Copper. We intend to be the market leader in cloud developer tools, and attracting directly experienced top level advisors such as Mark is critical to that mission."
Almost all of the hottest modern apps that users love are not run on computers on the app developer's premises, but are deployed globally via cloud services provided by companies such as Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, Google and Rackspace. Even after apps are written and tested, deployment to make them available to users around the world can be a slow, expensive and overly complicated process. Copper provides a suite of tools that makes deployment of applications faster, easier and less dependent on the proprietary tools of each cloud provider. That means cheaper, faster and more flexible delivery of popular in-demand apps for brand name developers such as Copper's customers Salesforce, Glassdoor and McCann WorldGroup.
Mr. Relph added, "I'm pleased to be able to sink my teeth into the developer tools space that I know so well. Copper's products are unique in the space and provide high value to app developers. I'm thrilled to be actively involved in Copper's success." Most recently, Mark headed up the Emerging Business Team at Microsoft (now part of Microsoft Ventures), which focused on venture backed startups and the venture capital community. In Silicon Valley, Mark's team orchestrated Microsoft's relationship with top VCs and investors. In addition, Mark is a senior advisor, mentor and advocate for the technology community across Canada.
