Urban Communications Inc. Announces Municipal Fibre Optic Network Access Agreement With City of New Westminster
VANCOUVER, BC --(Marketwired - June 07, 2016) - Urban Communications Inc. (TSX VENTURE: UBN), one

Internet service to the home, is pleased to announce that it has signed
an agreement with the City of New Westminster to access its BridgeNet

network footprint, which will then reach 300 km. throughout the Lower
Mainland of British Columbia.
Urban plans to connect more than 125 residential buildings and dozens of commercial buildings across the city through New Westminster's BridgeNet fibre network over the next 24-36 months. These buildings comprise more than 10,000 residential units and represent potential new customers for Urban. The first buildings are expected to be connected to Urbanfibre Gigabit Internet service by September, 2016, starting with the Viceroy (608 Belmont Street) in uptown New Westminster. "Urban is excited to be working with the City and residents of New Westminster," said Mike Schmidt, President of Urban. "New Westminster's Intelligent City initiative will provide a big advantage for those residents and businesses seeking the best Internet connectivity in the country."
"New Westminster has an innovative culture and BridgeNet provides the infrastructure we need to power our full potential," said New Westminster Mayor Jonathan X. Coté. "Affordable access to broadband fibre is an ideal tool for connectivity and economic growth. We are pleased to be collaborating with Urbanfibre, bringing the benefits of broadband fibre to our community." "This agreement with the City of New Westminster is an important next step in Urban's growth and forms a critical part of our municipal expansion strategy in the region," said John Farlinger, Urban CEO. "Fibre is becoming the next utility and we continue to work with other municipalities across the province and the country to help them increase the return on their investments in communications infrastructure as well as deliver to their residents the fastest residential Internet speeds in the country."
